Effective immediately, Steven Groeneweg is responsible for overseeing capital equipment sales and customer service operations in Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.
The 40-year-old brings a wealth of experience to Lindemann, having spent over a decade in various industrial service and sales roles. Originally from Rotterdam in the Netherlands, Steven moved to Sweden 12 years ago. His career began at Xylem, an industrial pump company, where he focused on drainage pumps for construction and mining. Over the years, Groeneweg held positions in purchasing, product management, technical sales, and business development. His educational background includes a degree in mechanical engineering from Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences, in The Netherlands, and an MBA from Edinburgh Business School in the UK.
Groeneweg’s extensive experience in key account management and service development makes him an ideal fit for Lindemann’s strategic goals. He has a proven track record in growing strategic accounts and developing service offerings; skills that are crucial as Lindemann seeks to enhance its footprint and service offerings to customers. In addition to his native Dutch, he is fluent in English and Swedish – further positioning him as an asset in the region.
Strengthen presence and engagement with customers
Commenting on the appointment, Alexander Zinn, Lindemann’s Global Head of Sales, said: “Steven’s strong service background and relationship building skills are just what Lindemann needs as we strive to boost our presence and engagement with customers. His extensive experience in industrial services and his ability to develop and sell complete offerings will be invaluable as we continue to grow in the Nordics and Baltics.”
Groeneweg has already hit the ground running, meeting with key customers, including Stena, the largest customer in the Nordics. He noted: "The region is an established market with significant growth potential. The Nordics are at the forefront of sustainability and environmental matters, particularly in the green steel cycle and decarbonization efforts. There's a strong focus on growing, developing, and optimizing business practices here."
Expressing his enthusiasm about joining Lindemann, Groeneweg said: “I was drawn to Lindemann for two main reasons. Firstly, the company culture is all about getting things done, which I find really appealing. Secondly, the sustainability aspect is something I've been passionate about for a long time. Moving into a company that actively works towards a greener world is a very attractive proposition.”
Groeneweg’s appointment is a significant step for Lindemann Metal Recycling as the company continues to expand its footprint in the Nordics and Baltics, leveraging his expertise to drive growth and sustainability in the region. He reports to Alexander Zinn and will work alongside existing Sales Manager in the region Jacob Aspholm.
