Inspection at Audi

In Audi's plant in Neckarsulm (Baden-Württemberg), you'll find Europe’s largest fully automated scrap disposal facility. Here, stamping waste from production is processed into bales, which are then directly returned to steel mills. The machines in this facility are made by LINDEMANN.

Audi is one of the largest employers in the region – more than 15,000 employees work at the Neckarsulm site alone. For comparison: Neckarsulm has a population of 26,000. Audi resembles a small city, with many streets and numerous buildings. People bustle about everywhere. Some are walking, others are on Audi bicycles, and still others are driving cars.

And right in the middle of this complex setup, four LINDEMANN scrap baler operate daily, delivering peak performance. Heiko Wimmer, responsible for the maintenance of the press plant at Audi, explains: “Our press system is the bottleneck. If it ever comes to a halt, it directly impacts our production. That’s why it’s so important to work with absolutely reliable, robust, and low-maintenance machines like those from LINDEMANN.”
